Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs continues to develop sports rehabilitation programs for military veterans, engaging them in table tennis and pétanque training sessions. These initiatives are aimed at supporting physical recovery, psychological well-being, and social adaptation of defenders.
Table tennis training was conducted by Vasyl Koval, Champion of Ukraine, professional coach, and active advocate of veteran sports. The sessions brought together veterans of different ages and skill levels, forming a close-knit community of players. Table tennis helps veterans maintain physical fitness, improve reaction speed, coordination, and focus, while also reducing stress levels.
At the same time, veterans play pétanque on a specially equipped court — a game that combines strategy, precision, and teamwork. This sport promotes fine motor skills, emotional relief, and strengthens team spirit.

Both sports are part of DSUIA’s comprehensive program of social and psychological support for veterans. Such activities harmoniously combine physical exercise, communication, and rehabilitation, helping defenders reintegrate into society.
