28 October 2025 under the chairmanship of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk took place the seminar “Organization and development of sports in educational institutions of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system: modern approaches and practical aspects”.
The event was conducted by the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Participants discussed issues of unified approaches to the organization of sports activities in higher education institutions and lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Participation in the event was taken by representatives of the leadership of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Direction and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev.
In the seminar took part the director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs captain of police Oleksandr Tarasenko, rector of the National Academy of Internal Affairs police general of the third rank Ruslan Serbin, heads of profile structural subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system (NPU, NGU, DPSU, DSNS), vice-rectors who are responsible for the organization of sports activities in higher education institutions, lecturers and cadet-athletes, as well as heads of lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Participants of the event also became representatives of the Charitable Foundation “Chasha Myloserdya” Valentyna Pavsiukova and Oleksandr Herasymenko.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Inna Yashchuk greeted the participants of the seminar and noted that the purpose of holding the seminar is:
● development of a unified approach to the organization and development of sports in higher education institutions and lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system;
● ensuring systemicity and coordination of actions in the preparation of sports events in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system in 2026;
● presentation of best practices in the organization of sports activities;
● increasing the effectiveness of physical training and sports work in educational institutions of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs captain of police Oleksandr Tarasenko emphasized that educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system have modern sports infrastructure, inventory and equipment, established traditions of holding sports competitions, sports clubs, circles, active sports teams.
Oleksandr Tarasenko also outlined priority tasks regarding ensuring the development of sports in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Deputy director of the Department – head of the department of science, innovations and sports police lieutenant colonel Yehor Nazymko presented the concept of a unified approach to the development of sports in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs taking into account profiling by types of sports and the principle of coordination of actions.
Participants of the event familiarized themselves with the presentation of the team of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs in adaptive basketball, whose members are war veterans. About the formation and development of the adaptive basketball team, ensuring conditions for training told vice-rector of DSUIA police colonel Ihor Kovalov. He drew attention to the need for the development of barrier-free access to sports infrastructure in the educational institution.
To the participants of the seminar addressed the president of the Charitable Foundation “Chasha Myloserdya” Valentyna Pavsiukova. She thanked the organizers for the invitation and handed over as a gift to the lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs professional football balls. Dnipro Lyceum of Security Direction and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev was represented by director Kyrylo Nedria.
During the seminar participants exchanged practical experience regarding the organization of physical training and sports activities, motivation of education seekers to sports, and also discussed issues regarding the regulations of holding championships in 2026.
