A Team of Military Veterans from DSUIA Held a Petanque Workshop at Mechnikov Hospital

The event was dedicated to the opening of a new petanque court on the hospital grounds.

This sport combines strategy, precision, and teamwork. It promotes fine motor skills, psychological relief, and the strengthening of team spirit. Petanque is especially beneficial for military veterans undergoing rehabilitation after injuries.

Due to weather conditions, the event was held indoors. Among the participants were the Acting Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Veterans Hospital, Oleksii Hryhoruk, Advisor to the Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region on Veteran Affairs, Denys Skaleukh, medical staff, and veterans currently in recovery.

Representatives of DSUIA introduced the participants to the rules of the game, explained player tactics, conducted demonstration throws, and organized friendly matches.

Such events contribute to the physical rehabilitation of veterans, help restore their self-confidence, and promote social adaptation.
