Events were held for cadets of the third year of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation bodies of the NPU of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
The lessons were organized by the department of criminal procedure of DSUIA with the purpose of giving the educational process a practical orientation and deepening the knowledge of cadets regarding the investigation of war crimes, in particular sexual violence related to conflict, as well as features of conducting interrogations of minors and young children according to the model “Barnahus” and methodologies “Green Room” and “Procedural Interview”.
Besides, was held a binary practical lesson on the topic “Investigative (search) actions” within the framework of the academic discipline “Criminal Procedure”.
The events took place under the leadership of professor of the department of criminal procedure, police major Viktoriia Rohalska together with representatives of the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region. To the conducting of lessons joined: deputy head of the department of investigation of war crimes in conditions of armed conflict police major Mykhailo Pokalenko, deputy head of the department of investigation of crimes committed by children police major Tetiana Borovenska and senior investigator of the same department police major Yuliia Hryshko.
The lessons were held at the base of the Room for investigation of crimes of sexual violence related to conflict and “Green Room” in the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
Practical workers shared experience of conducting interrogations in the specified premises, drew attention of cadets to the advantages of obtaining testimonies thanks to the use of the specified methodologies, as well as answered questions of participants.
