A meeting with Olympic champions took place at DSUIA

A meeting “Women in Sports” with famous athletes — Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Dina Miftakhutdinova and Kateryna Futryk — took place at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. The event was held on the eve of the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence”.

The meeting was opened by the acting rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina. Moderator was the rector’s assistant on gender issues, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko.

Among the participants of the event were the university leadership, military veterans, cadets, students and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev.

Representatives of the sports community of the region also joined the meeting, in particular the head of the department of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, head of the NGO “WOMEN plus”, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration Liliia Hyrenko.

The main guest of the event was the world-famous athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh — champion and medalist of the Olympic Games, world and European record holder in high jump, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, holder of the title “National Legend of Ukraine”.

Together with her, Dina Miftakhutdinova, coach of Olympic champions and medalist of the Olympic Games, and Kateryna Futryk, multiple world and European champion, shared their experience and life stories. The athletes spoke about their path to victories, motivation to overcome difficulties and the importance of constant development.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the veteran direction. Yaroslava Mahuchikh, ambassador of the national charitable program “Save the Limb”, talked with veterans who work at DSUIA and discussed with them current needs and ways to support the military.

At the end of the event, the athletes received commemorative gifts from the university, and the meeting concluded with an autograph session and a group photo. The event became a true example of inspiration and strength for the youth.
