The events were organized by the psychological support department of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
Head of the department Serhii Vyshnevskyi informed the trainees about the work of the psychological unit of the university and emphasized its openness to the requests of the trainees of the Center.
The trainees of the “Police Academy” received modern knowledge regarding the basics of providing first psychological aid and self-help, which they reinforced during the viewing of training-thematic video materials and practical cases. An important part of the class was group practice of crisis intervention techniques and psychological stabilization. The participants mastered the protocol of stabilizing psychological state during an acute stress reaction ICOVER and the protocol for delivering bad news SPIKES.
The facilitator of the class Vladyslav Bidniak noted that constant professional discussions took place between him and the participants. Issues were raised regarding the peculiarities of providing first psychological aid to combatants and the adaptation of foreign experience to the conditions and mentality of the Ukrainian nation. The participants shared their own experience related to the topic of the meeting.


As the trainees themselves noted, conducting such classes is an important component of the professional training of future police officers, as it ensures the psychological safety of citizens and law enforcement officers.
