At Dnipro Lyceum of security direction and national-patriotic education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev has been started an elective course “Fundamentals of road traffic safety and vehicle driving”. Classes are organized with the aim of forming in lyceum students a responsible attitude to road traffic rules and acquiring basic skills of safe behavior on the road and driving vehicles.
Training combines theoretical and practical preparation. Pupils master provisions of the Road Traffic Rules of Ukraine, analyze video materials with examples of road accidents examine typical mistakes of pedestrians and drivers. The theoretical part is accompanied by multimedia presentations interactive discussions and lecture-conversations.
The practical block includes training on a special professional car simulator that allows to simulate real road situations and practice driving skills in safe conditions. Special attention is paid to trainings on providing pre-medical aid in road accidents.
In the plan of the elective are also provided educational trips to units of patrol police where lyceum students will be able to familiarize themselves with the work of law enforcement officers in the sphere of ensuring road traffic safety.
The elective will help lyceum students to form skills of safe behavior on the road develop attentiveness discipline and readiness to act competently in difficult road situations.
