“Winter on Fire”: documentary cinema as a factor in shaping national consciousness

NEWS

As part of national-patriotic education and the formation of civic awareness, cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police at DSUIA joined the viewing of the documentary film “Winter on Fire.”

The film, which tells the story of the events of the Revolution of Dignity, became a foundation for comprehensive discussion: after the screening, a conversation was held with Pavlo Ostrohliadov, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, who shared his personal memories and views on the significance of those events for modern Ukraine.

The cadets actively expressed their thoughts on what they had seen: many noted that the film not only deepened their understanding of historical events but also reminded them of the role every citizen plays in the development of statehood. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of professionalism, responsibility, and resilience of law enforcement officers during pivotal moments in history.

Such meetings contribute to the development of patriotic consciousness among young people and form an understanding of the value of dignity and freedom.
