DSUIA Veterans Met with Students of Dnipro Gymnasium No. 89

NEWS

A meeting between students and military veterans took place at Dnipro Gymnasium No. 89. The event was organized within the framework of national and patriotic education and aimed at supporting dialogue between generations who share common values — love for Ukraine, courage, and resilience.

The gymnasium welcomed DSUIA veterans Ivan Zmiievskyi, Yevhen Ratkov, Artem Formalyov, as well as Advisor to the Head of the National Police Directorate in Dnipropetrovsk Region on Veteran Policy, Denys Skaleukh, military veteran Almas Khaziiev (call sign Almaz), and others.

During the meeting, the veterans shared with the students their stories of service, combat experience, their path of personal formation, and return to peaceful life. They spoke about the challenges faced by every defender, the price of freedom, and the importance of unity within Ukrainian society. The students actively asked questions — about motivation, fellow soldiers, the power of support, and faith in victory.

The conversation took place in a warm atmosphere, and the veterans’ sincerity helped the children better understand current events and the role of every citizen in strengthening the state.

Additionally, the meeting had an important rehabilitative aspect for the veterans: the opportunity to speak about their experiences, to see the genuine interest of the students, and to feel their significance in shaping a conscious generation had a positive impact on their psychological well-being and supported their adaptation.

Such events are extremely valuable both for youth and for veterans. They help shape the patriotic awareness of students, teach respect for defenders, and provide children with truthful information about the war and the heroic deeds of Ukrainian soldiers.
