Regional commemorative events dedicated to honoring the victims of the Holodomors took place in Dnipro. Together with representatives of the authorities, law enforcement agencies, the clergy, and the city community, the Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Police Colonel Ihor Kovalov, took part in the event.

At the Memorial to the Victims of Political Repressions and the Holodomor, participants laid flowers and honored the memory of the millions who perished with a moment of silence. The site holds special historical significance: in the 1930s and early 1950s, it housed a special NKVD facility where the executed victims of political repressions were secretly buried.

The commemorative events served as a reminder of the tragedy that claimed the lives of millions of Ukrainians and forever altered the country’s history. Understanding the cost of the Holodomor and the repressions is crucial for preserving national memory, shaping historical awareness, and preventing such crimes in the future.
