NEWS

The Acting Rector of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Ihor Magdalina, held a meeting with the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine, Rolf Holmboe, during which they discussed expanding partnerships across several areas of activity.

Ihor Magdalina thanked Rolf Holmboe for the fruitful cooperation and emphasized that all initiatives and events conducted with the participation of Mission experts have contributed to improving the quality of training for future law enforcement officers. Representatives of EUAM were introduced to the updates in the university’s educational programs and the experience of implementing new educational components that significantly enhance the readiness of future police officers to meet modern challenges.

The parties discussed areas for deepening cooperation between DSUIA and EUAM within the Mission’s new mandate, which opens opportunities for the university to participate in new cycles of international technical assistance projects aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of the police.

Separately, Rolf Holmboe focused on the issue of social reintegration of veterans. Ihor Magdalina highlighted the work carried out by DSUIA in this direction, including the activities of the Barrier-Free Driving School, the provision of legal support, rehabilitation of persons with disabilities through sports, and more. An important component of the work with veterans is their active involvement in the educational and training processes of higher education applicants and lyceum students, as well as the integration of military personnel’s practical experience and competencies into the teaching of specialized disciplines.

Rolf Holmboe also noted that EUAM specialists have developed a “Psychological First Aid” training in the ToT (Training of Trainers) format, aimed at preparing trainers for further cascade training across the regions.

Both parties reaffirmed their interest in further expanding their partnership and implementing joint initiatives that will strengthen security, develop the professional competencies of police officers, and bring Ukraine closer to European standards in the field of law enforcement.
