At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was conducted “Universal training on mental health for first-line specialists” developed within the framework of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine”.
The event was organized within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 days against violence”.
With a welcoming word to the participants addressed assistant to the rector of DSUIA on gender issues doctor of legal sciences professor Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko. She greeted those present and emphasized the importance of high-quality training of first-line specialists — representatives of services that daily work with citizens and first encounter cases of psycho-emotional difficulties and critical situations.
In the training took part representatives of united territorial communities and Dnipropetrovsk regional council.
The training was conducted by the head of the department of psychological support of DSUIA specialist in brainspotting full member of the National Psychological Association of Ukraine and the Association of Psychologists of Higher School of Ukraine Serhii Vyshnevskyi as well as art therapist leading psychologist of the department of psychological support of DSUIA Anna Mhlynets.
Participants of the training received knowledge regarding 18 most common mental health disorders defined according to DSM-5 and mastered the 5-step model of interaction with people who have psycho-emotional difficulties. Special attention was paid to practical algorithms of support and skills of effective communication.
After completion of the event all participants received certificates of completion of the training.
