Mentorship Meeting with a Judge within the All-Ukrainian Campaign “16 Days Against Violence”

The Department of Criminal Procedure organized a meeting for 2nd–4th year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine on the topic “Human Rights Protection and Leadership in Legal Practice.”

The speakers of the event were Victoria Rohalska, Police Major and Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure at DDUVS, and Olha Naumova, Judge of the Sobornyi District Court of Dnipro and Candidate of Legal Sciences.

The meeting aimed to draw the attention of future legal professionals to the protection of human rights, leadership in human rights advocacy, as well as to highlight the issue of combating and investigating violence, particularly in the conditions of martial law.

Victoria Rohalska informed the cadets about the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence,” emphasized specific actions required during investigations of violent crimes, including sexual violence committed as a result of the russian federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and presented the relevant methodological recommendations to the cadets.

Olha Naumova focused on the topic of human rights protection in the work of future law enforcement officers, understanding leadership and its models, including mentorship.

Cadets had the opportunity to speak with the judge about her professional journey and development as a lawyer, learned more about the benefits of self-organization, and received answers regarding the use of artificial intelligence in legal practice when making court decisions, including in criminal proceedings related to violence.
