The event was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Process of the Educational-Scientific Institute of Training Specialists for Preventive Activity Units of the National Police of Ukraine within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign «16 Days Against Violence».

At the base of the Department of Professional Development and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of DSUIA was held a meeting of district police officers who are undergoing training under the specialization program with the representative of the free legal aid system Ruslan Sheremetiev.

The event was held with the aim of increasing the legal awareness of law enforcement officers regarding the mechanisms of providing free legal aid to persons who suffered from domestic violence, as well as conveying to victims of violence practical information regarding where to apply for legal aid.

The listeners learned about the system of free aid and the mechanism of obtaining free secondary legal aid. Mechanisms of interaction of the free legal aid system with the bodies of the National Police of Ukraine and other entities that carry out measures in the sphere of prevention and counteraction of domestic violence were presented.

Such events contribute to increasing the professional competence of district police officers in the sphere of protection of the rights of victims of domestic violence and ensuring effective response to cases of violence in accordance with the principles of the rule of law and respect for human dignity.
