At DSUIA took place the information day of the EU Framework Programme “Horizon Europe”

The event was conducted by representatives of the National Contact Point of the EU Programme “Horizon Europe” of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

Scientific-pedagogical workers of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in the meeting.

The attendees were acquainted with the main provisions and priorities of the programme by the head of the National Contact Centre Anzhela Pyatova, who noted that the opportunities provided by participation in writing project applications contribute to the professional growth of scientists, their focus on solving topical problems of society, transformation of scientific results into practical recommendations and development strategies. Anzhela Pyatova noted that the network of National Contact Points was created in Ukraine with the aim of providing the most complete and reliable information concerning the Programme directly, as well as for training and support in the process of preparing project proposals, and offered help in searching for partners and establishing contacts. The experience that KPI has contributes to obtaining effective results.

Thus, in 2024, with the support of the National Contact Point of Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy and Mobility” of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, 10 applications for participation in the “Horizon Europe” programme were prepared, 9 of which received funding.

Scientific worker of the National Contact Centre Serhii Shukaiev focused on practical advice regarding the formation of the project concept, search for partners and coordinators, calculation of budget proposals, etc.

Participants of the session asked a number of questions regarding the peculiarities of participation of security sector institutions in European research competitions, criteria for evaluating applications and key requirements for forming international consortia. Special attention was paid to the opportunities of clusters concerning security, digitalisation, sustainable development and protection of critical infrastructure — directions within which DSUIA can develop its own scientific initiatives.

Scientists of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs emphasized the importance of the received information, because participation in the “Horizon Europe” programme opens prospects for expanding international partnership, increasing the competitiveness of scientific research and integration into the European research space.

Following the results of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation, in particular by conducting additional thematic seminars and consultations for preparing future project applications.
