“Implementation of the Principle of the Rule of Law in Administrative Justice”: Public Lecture at DSUIA

The event was held within the framework of the annual national campaign “16 Days Against Violence”. Cadets and students of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in the event.

The public lecture was organized by the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs in cooperation with judges of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court.

With welcoming remarks, the participants were addressed by the Rector’s Assistant on Gender Issues, Doctor of Law, Professor, and Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Larysa Nalyvaiko.

The main purpose of the event was to deepen higher education students’ understanding of the substance and practical implementation of the rule of law in administrative justice, to reveal its importance for ensuring fair justice, protecting human rights, and the effective functioning of the administrative court system.

The speakers of the event were Judge of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court, Doctor of Law, Professor Vasyl Ilkov, and Judge-Spokesperson of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court, Candidate of Law Olena Lunina.

During the lecture, participants discussed current directions of judicial reform in Ukraine and their impact on the quality of justice and public trust; the essence and practical significance of the rule of law in judges’ work and in guaranteeing human rights; the specific features of the formation and development of administrative justice, including its role in resolving public-law disputes, ensuring the rule of law in the activities of public authorities, and protecting citizens’ rights in their relations with the state. The issue of judicial authority symbols was also addressed.
