“Barrier-Free Language: On the Rules of Ethical Communication” – a Lecture for DSUIA Students

An informational and educational lecture was organized by the General Library of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The event was held within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence.” The lecture was attended by cadets and students of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, as well as learners of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev.

The speaker of the event was Yuliia Ziuleva, Academic Secretary of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after the Slavic First Teachers Cyril and Methodius.

During the meeting, participants discussed key trends in creating a barrier-free environment and the development of inclusive spaces, identified the main principles of tolerant communication, and explored approaches for building appropriate interpersonal interaction.

The attendees also viewed a virtual book exhibition titled “Barrier-Free Environment”, prepared by the Deputy Head of the General Library of DSUIA, Olena Shkutova, followed by completing a thematic final test.

According to the organizers, such events contribute to fostering a culture of tolerance and prepare young people for proper and respectful interaction with persons with disabilities.
