DSUIA held career guidance meetings within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign «16 Days Against Violence»

About the advantages of studying at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, as well as further career opportunities in the structures of the National Police of Ukraine, representatives of the institution told high school students of Samar, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro.

Thus, deputy dean for educational and scientific-research activity of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine, police major Elvira Sydorova together with inspector of the Juvenile Prevention Service of Samar District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, police captain Lina Mykhailova and head of the Juvenile Prevention Service of Samar District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, police major Yuliia Smirnova held a career guidance event for pupils of lyceum No.11 of the city of Samar.

Lyceum pupils were presented with key peculiarities of admission conditions, faculties, specialities and material-technical base of the university, prospects of further employment.

With a career guidance visit to Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum No.23 came the head of the organizational-analytical work department of the Centre for Primary Professional Training «Police Academy» of DSUIA, police lieutenant colonel Andrii Shevchenko. Besides discussion of advantages of studying and conditions of the admission campaign to the university, Andrii Shevchenko held a preventive-legal seminar on the topic: «Legal responsibility of minors in questions and answers». The event was aimed at increasing the level of legal education and legal culture of lyceum pupils.

Lecturer of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines, police captain Maryna Lohinova and cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine conducted career guidance work among schoolchildren of Dnipro Lyceum No.134. Representatives of DSUIA answered questions regarding studying conditions, practical aspects of law enforcement training, opportunities for professional growth.

Within the framework of the All-Ukrainian campaign «16 Days Against Violence» they told schoolchildren about problems of overcoming various forms of domestic violence, cruel treatment of children, counteraction to human trafficking and protection of women’s rights.

Career guidance meeting at the base of Dnipro Higher Vocational School of Construction was held by associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Valentyn Liudvik. During the conversation, the requirements for applicants to DSUIA were disclosed in detail, in particular passing the NMT, undergoing special checks and medical commissions. The importance of physical training and moral stability of applicants was emphasized.

Career guidance events help to consciously choose a future speciality, and also acquaint youth with the realities of service, forming a positive image of a police officer and stimulating the desire to develop in the law enforcement sphere.
