A meeting was held at the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after O. Hostishchev with a representative of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region — Head of the Department for Fire Extinguishing Training and Organization of the Emergency Response Unit, Major of the Civil Protection Service Andrii Chaiko.

Andrii Chaiko presented the structure of the State Emergency Service, which includes territorial units, operational coordination centers, communication and information technology centers, as well as special aviation detachments. He discussed with the students the main tasks of the service: eliminating the consequences of fires, natural and man-made disasters, conducting search and rescue operations, providing first aid, and delivering aviation support.
The speaker emphasized that today the service operates in an expanded mode, responding rapidly to threats under wartime conditions. The SES performs demining operations, rescues victims, delivers humanitarian aid, and supports the functioning of local communities.

Andrii Chaiko also told the students about real rescue operations, cooperation with colleagues from different regions, and the daily challenges faced by rescuers. He highlighted the implementation of advanced technologies — firefighting robots, drones, and underwater demining equipment.
At the end, he reminded the students of the need to strictly follow safety rules during air raid alerts and the importance of staying in shelters.

According to the participants, the meeting provided a comprehensive understanding of the daily work of the State Emergency Service, its structure, and its modern capabilities. The lyceum students concluded that the profession of a rescuer requires endurance, courage, and a high level of training, and that their work is critically important in the face of today’s challenges.
