A Lecture on Nonviolent Communication for Criminal Investigation Officers Held Within the “16 Days Against Violence” Campaign

NEWS

Criminal investigation officers undergoing long-term professional development at DSUIA learned about the principles of nonviolent communication and the prevention of gender-based violence.

As part of the nationwide campaign “16 Days Against Violence,” the Institute of Postgraduate and Distance Learning of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs organized a training lecture titled “Nonviolent Communication” for the participants of the long-term qualification enhancement program for criminal investigation officers.

The officers met with representatives of the TatoHUB project team.

During the event, participants learned about the activities of public organizations and the assistance volunteers provide in difficult life situations arising in families and communities.

Special attention was given to the principles of nonviolent communication, the importance of applying them in professional and everyday contexts, as well as to effective methods of preventing and countering gender-based violence.

Such events contribute to developing a humanistic approach among criminal investigation officers in fulfilling their professional duties, increasing their level of professional ethics and empathy, and improving their skills in effective interaction with citizens when resolving conflicts and responding to domestic violence cases.

The TatoHUB project is implemented by the NGO “Successful Woman” within the framework of the project “Pathways to Recovery: Building Community Resilience Based on Egalitarian Approaches,” with the support of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and with financial support from the Government of Sweden.
