Representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council took part in the events.
The award ceremony of the winners of the 2nd oblast essay contest “Studying elements of the world’s intangible cultural heritage” took place within the framework of the annual All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence”.
With welcoming words to the participants of the event addressed: Acting Rector of DSUIA, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Ihor Mahdalina; head of the culture and sports department of the executive apparatus, deputy of the oblast council, head of the NGO “WOMEN plus”, accredited by UNESCO, initiator of the contest Liliia Hyrenko; assistant to the rector of the state university on gender issues, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine Larysa Nalyvaiko and head of the Dnipro Regional Administrative Court, Doctor of Legal Sciences Volodymyr Horbalinskyi.


Honourable guests also joined the event: director – artistic director of the Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Rostyslav Karandieiev; theatre and film actor, People’s Artist of Ukraine Viktor Hunkin; head of the literary part of the Dnipro National Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after T. H. Shevchenko, actress of the Dnipro Academic Theatre of Drama and Comedy Valentyna Halatska; artistic director of the Lesia Ukrainka Academic Music and Drama Theatre of the city of Kamianske, head of the Dnipropetrovsk inter-oblast branch of the National Union of Theatre Workers of Ukraine Marharyta Kudina; deputy director for audience organisation of the Dnipropetrovsk Academic Regional Ukrainian Youth Theatre Mykhailo Morozov; director of the Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after D. I. Yavornytskyi Oleksandr Staryk; director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after the First Teachers of the Slavs Cyril and Methodius Nadiia Titova; director of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Library for Youth Olha Matiukhina; director of the Dnipro Art Museum Liudmyla Shatiro and others.







The main goal of the solemn event was honouring and supporting young talents of Dnipropetrovsk region, popularisation of national identity, Ukrainian cultural heritage, in particular Cossack songs and art, as well as marking finalists and winners of the essay contest through involvement of leading artists, scientists and cultural institutions of the region.

Laureates of I, II and III places in different age groups and categories were awarded. Participants were presented with diplomas, theatre tickets, gifts and incentive prizes.




In addition, during the award ceremony there was a presentation of cultural heritage using a video about Cossack songs of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Artistic groups also performed – the trio “Lileya presented traditional Ukrainian songs and involved the audience in joint performance. At the end there was a creative master-class on Petrykivka painting, which contributed to the preservation and development of folk art traditions.
