Pupils of the lyceum became acquainted with the basics of cybersecurity and principles of social engineering.
At Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was held an elective lesson on the topic “Basics of cybersecurity and social engineering”. The lesson was conducted by informatics teacher Mykola Shevchenko.

During the lesson, pupils studied rules of safe use of gadgets, features of safe behaviour in social networks, as well as mechanisms by which cybercriminals apply social engineering to deceive users.

In particular, issues of viruses and malicious software were raised, typical hacker attacks and counteraction to them were considered, as well as issues of preventing theft of personal data.
Special attention was paid to the principles of cyber-hygiene: lyceum pupils learned about ways of storing passwords, creating backup copies of data in applications and checking permissions.

Such events contribute to the formation among pupils of digital literacy, development of skills of safe behaviour on the Internet and awareness of modern cyber threats, which is an important element of modern safety culture.
