The course is conducted by representatives of the international company TetraTech, which specializes in issues in the sphere of humanitarian demining and management of risks associated with explosive remnants of war.
At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs began training of scientific-pedagogical workers on issues of mine safety, developed specially for police.
The event was opened by the prorector of DSUIA, police colonel Ihor Kovalov, who thanked representatives of the company TetraTech for cooperation and emphasized the relevance and practical significance of the knowledge they share. He stressed that awareness on issues of mine danger is especially important for police officers who serve in de-occupied territories.
During 10 days, instructors of the company TetraTech will train university lecturers according to the programme that covers key issues of mine safety, in particular:
● categories of explosive objects and their definition;
● typical threats associated with explosive remnants of war;
● rules of safe behaviour in case of detection of suspicious or explosive objects;
● algorithms of actions in dangerous situations and procedure for informing relevant services;
● measures for minimizing risks for civilian population and representatives of the Security and Defence Sector forces.


Conducting such training will contribute to increasing the level of professional training of DSUIA lecturers, integration of up-to-date knowledge on handling explosive objects during performance of official duties into the educational process and formation among future law enforcement officers of a responsible attitude to issues of personal and public safety.
