At the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Hospital for War Veterans, another petanque training session took place within the framework of sports and rehabilitation work, which is implemented by veterans who undergo training on the basis of DDUVS, with the active support of the university leadership.
The sports event was organized for servicemen who are undergoing a course of recovery at the hospital, according to the “peer-to-peer” principle. Its purpose was to combine moderate physical activity with elements of psychological support and the development of social interaction.
The training was conducted by military veterans Viacheslav Panin, Ivan Zmiievskyi, Eduard Kyrylov, and senior lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training of DDUVS Maryna Chobotko. During the session, participants practiced throwing techniques and became familiar with the basics of petanque strategy and tactics.
According to the defenders who are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the hospital, such activities are an important component of the recovery process, help maintain physical tone, establish communication, and contribute to a gradual return to an active lifestyle and social activity.
