In the main building of the university appeared an inclusive lift that ensures access to the sports hall on the second floor of the building.
Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs continues systematic work on implementation of barrier-free principles. With the support of the Charitable Organization “International Charitable Fund «NOVA UKRAINE» an additional lift for persons with disabilities was installed in the institution.
Coordinator of the organization Olena Osadcha personally carried out testing of the equipment. The event was also attended by the prorector of DSUIA, police colonel Ihor Kovalov.
Inclusive lift is a specialized device for ensuring barrier-free access to people with limited possibilities that allows lifting them and wheelchairs between different levels of the building (stairs, thresholds) using a platform that works on the principle of a lift. Ihor Kovalov focused attention that such lifts, of which there are already 7 in the university today, are a safe alternative to ramps: have simple control, protective fences and prevent slipping, ensuring comfort of visitors.
From today, military veterans and persons with musculoskeletal disorders can participate in all events that will be held in the game hall on the second floor of the university.
During the meeting, Olena Osadcha and Ihor Kovalov discussed directions of further cooperation aimed at systematic implementation of barrier-free environment for military veterans and persons with disabilities.
Installation of such equipment is part of the systematic work of DSUIA on implementation of inclusion principles and social support of Ukraine’s defenders.
