The events were organized for third-year cadets of the Faculty for the Training of Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at DDUVS, with the aim of combining theoretical training with practical familiarization with court activities.
In order to deepen theoretical knowledge in the disciplines of the criminal procedure cycle, the Department of Criminal Procedure of DDUVS organized visits to open court hearings at the Sobornyi District Court of the city of Dnipro.
The cadets directly observed the implementation of the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine that they had studied during classes in the academic discipline “Criminal Procedure,” in particular on the following topics: “Measures to Ensure Criminal Proceedings,” “General Provisions of Pre-Trial Investigation,” and “Investigative (Search) Actions.” They also received answers to their questions from judges of the Sobornyi District Court of the city of Dnipro, including Oleksandr Batuiev.
Thanks to this approach, future legal professionals better mastered the theoretical material and were properly prepared for final assessment. In addition, prior to the examination, the Department of Criminal Procedure organized a consultative binary class for cadets with Judge Liudmyla Sliusar of the Industrialnyi District Court of the city of Dnipro, held in the format of a professional discussion of practical aspects of applying the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Together with Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Police Major Viktoriia Rohalska, Liudmyla Sliusar provided consultations on the main topics that the cadets had studied during the semester and answered questions requiring additional clarification, with an emphasis on the specifics of implementing the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in the practical activities of investigators under the legal regime of martial law.
