Interaction Between Juvenile Prevention Units and the Educational Safety Service: a Binary Class for DDUVS Cadets

Cadets of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Preventive Activity Units of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in the class organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure.

During the event, the topic “Interaction Between Juvenile Prevention Units and the Educational Safety Service in the Prevention of Offenses and Crimes” was addressed.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Yurii Soroko, Head of the Educational Safety Sector of Dnipro District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Olena Tkachova, Head of the Educational Safety Sector of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region, shared their experience with the cadets.

During the class, the cadets’ attention was focused on the importance of a comprehensive approach to ensuring safety in educational institutions. Particular emphasis was placed on the algorithms of interaction between juvenile prevention units and educational safety services when identifying and responding to offenses committed by minors, as well as criminal offenses in which children are the victims.

The mechanisms for preventing aggressive behavior, bullying, other forms of violence and criminal manifestations among students were also discussed, along with the role of educational institutions as the primary link in identifying children in difficult life circumstances and the need for timely notification of the relevant services.

The experts emphasized that effective interaction between juvenile prevention units and the educational safety service is a key prerequisite for creating a safe educational environment in which every student feels protected.
