The event was organized by the Judo Federation of Ukraine with the aim of implementing and popularizing adaptive judo, aimed at involving veterans and people with disabilities in sports.
Guests of the event included the President of the Judo Federation of Ukraine, the Head of the Adaptive Judo Commission of the JFU, Deputy Heads of the Commission, and others. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of creating accessible conditions for sports activities and supporting veterans and people with disabilities.
The opening of the section was joined by military veteran, Champion of Ukraine in adaptive judo Andrii Shevchenko, who currently works as an instructor of the Department of Special Physical Training of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. Together with well-known Ukrainian judokas and coaches, he took part in demonstration training sessions and practical classes.

Andrii Shevchenko actively develops adaptive judo, combining his own sports experience with professional activity at DSUIA. His example is illustrative and important for the veteran community, as it demonstrates that sports can become an effective means of physical and psychological rehabilitation, a powerful factor of social adaptation, and the formation of a culture of support for veterans through systematic sports work.
