In the event took part Acting Rector Ihor Mahdalina and prorector, police colonel Ihor Kovalov. During the meeting were discussed topical questions that concern the veteran community of DSUIA.
Participants focused attention on prospects of creation of veteran centre in the university as a space for coordination of initiatives, support of social adaptation and realization of rehabilitation programmes.
Separate direction of discussion became development of adaptive types of sports in DSUIA that will contribute to physical rehabilitation of veterans and involvement of them in active university life.
Also were considered possibilities of involvement of veterans in educational process. It was about involvement of defenders in conducting classes for cadets on tactical polygons, as well as use of practical combat experience of veterans, in particular regarding application of unmanned aerial vehicles in police activity.
At the end of the meeting Ihor Mahdalina congratulated military veterans with Christmas and coming New Year, wishing them strong health, peace and well-being.
Such meetings are an important element of interaction between university leadership and veteran community, contribute to integration of practical experience of Ukraine’s defenders in educational process and support of their social adaptation.
