At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took place a solemn handing of driver’s licence to the next graduate of the Barrier-Free Driving School. The document was handed by the head of the Department of Automotive Training of the university, military veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov.
Graduate Rodion has disability from childhood associated with musculoskeletal disorder. In connection with actual need in increasing mobility he, having familiarized with information about activity of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA, applied for passing training. Theoretical preparation mastered independently, practical lessons passed under guidance of qualified instructor.
According to words of the graduate, first exits on highways were accompanied by significant psychological tension, however professional accompaniment and mentorship of the instructor ensured formation of confident skills of vehicle control. Now Rodion received driver’s licence and plans to purchase a car, in particular with automatic transmission.
Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA systematically contributes to increasing the level of independence and social realization of veterans, military personnel and persons with disabilities, expanding their possibilities in everyday life.
