A ceremonial presentation of a driver’s license to another graduate of the Barrier-Free Driving School took place at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. The Category “B” document was presented by the Head of the Automotive Training Unit of the University, military veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov.
Illia is a military veteran who, in 2025, was wounded while performing combat missions in the Kharkiv direction. As a result of the injury, impairments of the musculoskeletal system functions occurred.
According to Illia, he repeatedly tried to undergo training and pass exams to obtain a driver’s license earlier, but was able to realize this dream only now, thanks to the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA.
Illia learned about the existence of this opportunity from his fellow servicemen. He successfully passed the theoretical and practical exams and obtained a driver’s license.
The graduate notes that practical driving required special concentration of attention and adherence to all specific features of vehicle operation. However, thanks to the high professionalism of the instructors of the Barrier-Free Driving School, the entire process was successful and comfortable.
“For veterans who have injuries, maximum mobility is extremely important. Such courses provide a real opportunity to return to an active life, be independent and solve everyday tasks on their own,” Illia emphasized.
The Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA continues to help veterans, military personnel, and people with disabilities gain new opportunities for self-realization and independence.
