Representatives of DSUIA took part in city events and attended a lecture on historical events.
Representatives of the Student-Cadet Council of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in an event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of Kruty and the memory of students who died as a result of russian aggression.
Higher education applicants laid flowers at the improvised memorial to students whose lives were taken by the modern war.
A lecture on the Battle of Kruty also took place at DSUIA. Cadets and pupils of the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev of the MIA joined the event.
The speaker was the Chief Specialist of the Second Interregional Territorial Department of the Department for Ensuring the Implementation of National Memory Policy in Regions and Subordinate Institutions of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Iryna Reva.
She spoke about the historical preconditions of the event, the participation of youth in defending Ukrainian statehood and the result of the battle – it stopped the advance of the multi-thousand Bolshevik army and allowed the Ukrainian People’s Republic to gain time and sign the Brest Peace, gaining recognition of independence.
In addition, those present saw weapons and personal belongings of the UNR warriors of that time.
Participation in these events became for higher education applicants not only a tribute to memory, but also an awareness of the responsibility of the modern generation for preserving the independence of Ukraine, its values and historical truth.
