The event was conducted by the pedagogical organizer of the lyceum Liliia LISOVA.
A lecture dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of Kruty took place at the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The pupils listened to the story about the battle that took place on January 29, 1918 at the Kruty railway station.
The children learned about the key figures of the event, in particular about the gymnasium student Hryhorii PIPS’KYI, as well as about the historical significance of the battle: the heroic resistance of students and gymnasium pupils made it possible to stop the advance of Bolshevik troops, win precious time and ensure the signing of the Brest Peace.
At the end of the lecture, all those present honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence.
Such events contribute to a deep understanding of modern Ukrainian history, the cultivation of patriotism, respect for the feat of young defenders of the state, the formation of national consciousness and awareness of the price of freedom and independence.
