Joint Training Sessions in Adaptive Judo at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Sports events are conducted with the comprehensive support of the administration of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs by the Department of Special Physical Training.

A military veteran Andrii Shevchenko, who last year won the title of Champion of Ukraine in adaptive judo, took part in the training session. Together with him, military veterans Oleksandr Hryshchuk and Viacheslav Pryvalov trained. Cadets of the university also joined the session.

Techniques were practiced both in standing position and in ground fighting, several training bouts in randori format were held. Practical exercises are aimed at developing coordination, strength and endurance.

Adaptive judo helps restore physical tone, improve psycho-emotional state, reduce stress levels and contributes to the integration of veterans into the social environment. According to the trainers, these are not just sports sessions, but also an effective rehabilitation tool: regular physical activity gradually restores strength and endurance, improves coordination and mobility after injuries. The sessions contribute to reducing anxiety, improving sleep and overall emotional balance, forming a sense of control over one’s own body.
