The event took place under the guidance of the “Police Academy” lecturer, Police Major Vira Shykuta.
Participants of the CPPP “Police Academy” of DSUIA visited the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Bureau of Forensic Medical Expertise of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
The class on the academic subject “Fundamentals of Forensic Medicine” on the topic “Forensic Medical Thanatology. Examination of the Corpse at the Place of Its Discovery and in the Morgue” was conducted by the Head of the Department Ihor Tytarchuk, who familiarized those present with the main directions of the department’s activities.
The participants were present during the autopsy of the corpse, during which the procedure for its examination was demonstrated, as well as the features of describing and recording the results in procedural documents.
Such events enable future police officers to directly see the specifics of forensic medical expertise, understand the role of forensic medical conclusions in criminal proceedings, deepen knowledge of thanatology and fundamentals of forensic medicine, as well as form a professional attitude toward working with evidence that is decisive for establishing the truth in criminal cases.
