The Head of the Department of Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Nataliia Komykh, took part in the platform’s work and delivered a report entitled “Does War Have a Woman’s Face?”.

The event was organized by Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs together with leading higher education institutions and scientific partners. The platform became a professional venue for discussing the gender dimension of science in wartime conditions, the role of women scientists in preserving national identity, issues of academic mobility, inclusiveness, and women’s participation in the security and defense sector.

In her speech, Nataliia Komykh focused on war as a gender-contextualized social phenomenon, analyzed the dominant narrative about the “male” nature of war, and substantiated that the thesis about a “non-female face” of war is a discursive myth. The discussion also addressed issues of women’s agency, the transformation of gender roles, the psychosocial consequences of war, and the importance of gender-sensitive approaches in processes of social recovery.
