Adaptive Basketball Training Continues at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Regular adaptive wheelchair basketball training sessions for military veterans are organized by the Department of Special Physical Training at the initiative and with the support of the leadership of the educational institution.

The sessions take place within the activities of the first adaptive basketball team in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, established on the basis of DSUIA. Team members systematically practice technical and tactical elements of the game, improving their physical fitness and team interaction.

Viacheslav Kaistro, a military veteran and participant of the Invictus Games, also took part in the training session.

Specialists note that adaptive basketball promotes the restoration of mobility, strengthening of muscles, improvement of coordination, and reduction of psycho-emotional stress, while the team format of the sessions supports the social integration of veterans.

Training sessions of the adaptive basketball team are held at DSUIA on a regular weekly basis.
