Serhii graduated from the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs in 2012, and in October 2014 he dedicated his life to service in the internal affairs bodies. In 2024, he joined a combat unit — the Special Purpose Police Regiment “KORD” (rifle unit).
This was a conscious step by a person who did not seek easy paths and remained faithful to his oath and duty to the very end. In the regiment, Serhii mastered and became a true expert in operating UAVs.
Serhii Vasylenko was killed on February 8, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in one of the key frontline areas in Donetsk region. On February 11, Dnipropetrovsk region said farewell to the fallen warrior. He was buried as a Hero: family members, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues paid their last respects to the KORD officer.
