Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and the Main Department of the National Police in Luhansk Oblast, training sessions in tactical medicine and practical exercises at the traffic accident training ground were conducted.
The tactical medicine training was held using a methodology developed within the international ERASMUS+ SimS program (“Simulation Medicine and Scenario-Based Learning in Emergency Care”).
Participants thoroughly practiced algorithms for providing pre-medical assistance in cases of massive bleeding in adults, as well as the specifics of stopping critical bleeding in children of different ages. Special attention was paid to the correct application of direct pressure on a wound, identifying conditions in which this method should not be used, as well as techniques for applying pressure to junctional points and controlling bleeding from the neck area.
During the session, types of injuries and wounds were reviewed, rules for the use of bandages were discussed, and techniques and specific features of wound packing were carefully practiced in accordance with modern tactical medicine standards. The practical component enabled police officers to consolidate their knowledge and develop устойчивые skills for operating in high-risk conditions.
A separate stage included training at the “Organization of Road Traffic and Traffic Accident Documentation” training ground — a specialized educational complex that simulates real road traffic accidents. Police officers practiced algorithms for ensuring safety at the scene, providing assistance to victims, coordinating services, and documenting the circumstances of an accident in conditions максимально close to real-life situations.
The conducted training once again confirmed the importance of systematic cooperation between the university and the units of the National Police. The combination of the higher education institution’s scientific and methodological potential with the practical experience of law enforcement officers contributes to improving police professional training, strengthening their readiness to act in crisis situations, and preserving the life and health of citizens.
