NEWS

The event was conducted by the Head of the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi for representatives of the charitable organization “Charitable Foundation ‘Right to Protection’”.

The information session was held in online format. The event was attended by employees of the foundation who carry out measures to counter and prevent domestic violence and gender-based violence, including representatives of the civil sector. During the session, participants became familiar with the main rules and specifics of interrogating minors and juvenile persons, methodological recommendations, the university’s experience in creating the training ground “Child-Friendly Crisis Room”, as well as the psychologist’s own experience in using the “Green Room” methodology.

During the event, it was noted that in Ukraine since February 2023, a pilot project has been implemented to involve psychologists in criminal proceedings involving minors and juvenile persons through regional/interregional centers for providing free legal aid, approved by Order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the Office of the Prosecutor General dated February 7, 2023, No. 493/5/67/32. Accordingly, a Register of psychologists who have passed the relevant competition and training and can be involved in criminal proceedings involving minors and juvenile persons was created.

The Head of the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi was one of the first in Ukraine to meet the competition requirements and has been included in the Register of psychologists who can be involved in criminal proceedings involving minors and juvenile persons since 2023. During this period, at the request of investigators, he has repeatedly participated in criminal proceedings involving children.

Currently, three specialist psychologists work in the Department of Psychological Support of DSUIA, who have the appropriate training and are included in the Register.
