The event was held at the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev of the MIA.

On the occasion of the Day of the Native Language, an intellectual and entertainment event “Kalynova Svitlytsia” took place at the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after O. Hostishchev of the MIA. It united two teams in a sincere linguistic duel — teachers and lyceum pupils, who joined remotely.
The program of the event was rich and varied. The first was the “Who Is Faster” contest — participants demonstrated lightning-fast reaction, knowledge of phraseologisms, synonyms, and language norms. The hall actively supported the teams with applause.
In the “Language Quiz” participants recalled interesting facts about the history of the Ukrainian language, its richness and uniqueness. The questions were not easy, but both teachers and lyceum pupils gave correct answers.
Particular excitement was caused by the “Proverbs” contest — teams continued folk wisdom, explained the meaning of winged expressions, proving that the Ukrainian word is deep and figurative. No less interesting were the “Rebuses”, which required ingenuity and team cohesion.
The culmination of the event was the homework — a contest for the best recitation of a poem about the native language.
At the end of the intellectual trials, the jury announced the result: friendship won.
“Kalynova Svitlytsia” once again proved: the native language is our strength, our memory and our identity. As long as the Ukrainian word sounds — Ukraine lives.
