“Ensuring the Implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the Private Law Sphere”: Meeting of the Scientific Club at DSUIA

The event was organized by Marina Lohinova, Lecturer of the Department of Civil Law Disciplines of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Captain.

A presentation was delivered by second-year student Maryna Zelenska. She focused on the influence of international human rights standards on the development of private law institutions in the modern context of building the rule of law and Ukraine’s integration into the European legal space. The speaker emphasized that the implementation of international norms into national legislation helps align Ukraine’s legal system with European standards and strengthens the protection of human rights and freedoms in the sphere of civil legal relations.

Cadet Albert Kubariev raised a discussion issue regarding the impact of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the development of civil legislation in Ukraine. He noted that its provisions significantly influenced the formation of the value system of Ukrainian law, defined the fundamental principles of regulating civil relations, and established the idea that the protection of human rights is not only a duty of the state but also a basic condition for the functioning of a democratic society.

Cadet Sofiia Antonova joined the discussion, focusing on key principles affecting contractual relations. Among them are the principle of equality before the law, prohibition of discrimination, freedom of contract, the right to property, the right to fair judicial protection, and respect for human dignity. Participants noted that adherence to these principles is a necessary condition for the development of legal culture in society.

During the club meeting, cadets actively exchanged views and expressed proposals regarding the need to update the foundation of civil legal relations. In particular, they discussed the creation of a relevant and modern legal framework for regulating family, property, contractual, and other civil relations in accordance with international human rights standards.
