Sports for Military Veterans: Adaptive Judo Training Held at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

At the base of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a regular adaptive judo training session took place, organized by the Department of Special Physical Training.

Military veterans Oleksandr Hryshchuk and Andrii Shevchenko took part in the session.

During the training, the veterans practiced techniques in standing position and ground fighting, as well as conducted several training bouts in randori format.

Adaptive judo contributes to the restoration of physical tone, improvement of psycho-emotional state, reduction of stress levels, and social integration of veterans. According to the trainers’ assessment, these are not merely sports classes, but also an effective rehabilitation tool: regular physical activity gradually restores strength and endurance, improves coordination and mobility after injuries.

The training helps reduce anxiety, normalize sleep and overall emotional state, as well as form a sense of control over one’s own body.

Adaptive judo classes are held every Thursday at 16:00 and constitute an important component of comprehensive rehabilitation and development of the veterans’ community at the university.
