The event was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure and the Department of Tactical and Special Training of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
Patrol police officers from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk oblasts who are undergoing advanced training at the Department of Organization of Advanced Training and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of DSUIA took part in the class.
The invited speaker was Inspector of the Juvenile Prevention Sector of the Preventive Activity Department of the Dnipro District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Police Senior Lieutenant Maksym Dubovyk.
The class was conducted with the aim of ensuring guarantees for the protection of rights and interests of children who have suffered from domestic and other violence, as well as ensuring proper response to cases of such violence, providing timely assistance to affected children, creating conditions for every child to exercise the right to grow up in a safe environment under martial law conditions.
Maksym Dubovyk emphasized that countering domestic violence against children is a type of legal relations that require organization and planning of joint measures by police units and specially authorized bodies in the field of prevention and counteraction to domestic violence. For this purpose, it is necessary to combine information, technical, human and other resources for joint use.
Directions of interaction regarding the search for missing children, detection of minors during curfew hours, or children who endanger their own lives, etc., were also considered.
In addition, police officers mastered skills of effective communication with minors in various situations, learned to establish psychological contact and draw up procedural documents.
Such events enable police officers to improve their professional level, practice algorithms of actions in specific situations, as well as acquire knowledge to ensure safety.
