DSUIA and the Barrier-Free Driving School Presented to Military Veterans in Zaporizhzhia

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was represented at the meeting by the Head of the Automotive Training Department, war veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov.

The meeting took place at the Khortytsia National Educational and Rehabilitation Academy. The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, as well as the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

During the meeting with military veterans, Yevhenii Khokhlov familiarized those present with the activities of DSUIA, conditions for obtaining higher education, and opportunities for further employment at the educational institution.

Particular attention was paid to the work of the DSUIA Barrier-Free Driving School. Those present were explained the categories of driver training for persons with disabilities, features of equipment of training vehicles, and the procedure for undergoing training. In addition, participants received information about the procedure for receiving services at MIA service centers and the possibility of vehicle adaptation.

Zaporizhzhia veterans communicated with the driver-instructor, inspected a specially adapted vehicle used for practical classes, and also tried their hand at driving the car.

Conducting such events contributes to the social reintegration of war veterans and persons with disabilities, expands their opportunities for professional development and independent mobility, and also demonstrates the practical implementation of the principles of barrier-free environment in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
