Students and cadets of the university became familiar with the history of the State Anthem of Ukraine and its significance for the nation.
The Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the NNIP (Institute of Law and Innovative Education) of DSUIA conducted a curator’s hour dedicated to this topic. The students learned about the history of the creation and establishment of one of the main state symbols of Ukraine. They were introduced to the historical preconditions for writing the anthem, the figures of its authors, and the significance of this patriotic song for the Ukrainian people.
During the meeting, the historical path of the formation of the State Anthem of Ukraine, its official approval as one of the state symbols, and the anthem’s role in shaping national consciousness and patriotism were discussed.
At the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of NPU, a lecture-meeting was held on the occasion of the Day of the State Anthem of Ukraine. The cadets watched a historical presentation, paying special attention to the significance of the anthem as a symbol of unity, spirit, and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Bodies of NPU met with a veteran of the National Guard of Ukraine, employee of DSUIA, Pavlo Ostrohlyadov. He emphasized the importance of the State Anthem of Ukraine as a symbol that unites generations, inspires the struggle for independence, and serves as a powerful moral guide for every defender of the state in the face of modern challenges.
Additionally, on the occasion of the upcoming Ukrainian Volunteer Day, cadets met with military veteran Pavlo Pechernyi, who shared his life story and service, which began in 2014 as a volunteer and continued after the full-scale invasion. The veteran shared his military experience, emphasized the need for constant self-improvement, and stated that youth must always be ready to defend the state.
The specialists of the general library of DSUIA held exhibitions of literature dedicated to the birthday of Taras Shevchenko and the Day of the State Anthem of Ukraine. The cadets discussed various aspects of the great Kobzar’s figure and his prophetic words related to the life of our country.
As part of the book exhibition “The glory and freedom of Ukraine has not yet died”, the participants of the event got acquainted with publications that reveal the history of the creation of the anthem and its current legislative consolidation.
Such events are an important component of national-patriotic education of youth and contribute to the affirmation of the values of Ukrainian statehood among higher education seekers.
