The session was organized by the Department of Criminal Procedure as part of the study of the academic discipline “Criminal Procedure” for 3rd-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the NPU.
The speakers were Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure, Police Major Victoria Rohalska, advisor on criminal investigations of organized crime at the KMES Kris Elliott, and KMES specialist on prosecutor’s office reform Natalia Monich.


The event was also attended by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-trial Investigation Units of the NPU, Police Major Elvira Sidorova, and graduates of the procedural interview training from JustGroup and KMES – practical practitioners and DDUVS instructors, including: Prosecutor of the Dnipro Regional Prosecutor’s Office Vitalii Nikolaychuk, Investigator of the Investigative Department of the GUNP in Dnipropetrovsk Region Victoria Rufanova, Head of the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Pedagogy Natalia Komykh, as well as Professors of the Department of Criminal Procedure of DDUVS Volodymyr Fedchenko and Olena Soldatenko.
The cadets gained new knowledge on the innovative methodology of conducting an interrogation and, under the guidance of national and international experts, practiced conducting procedural interviews. Specifically, stages such as planning and preparation; establishing psychological contact; explaining rights and the procedure for conducting interviews; gathering information; completion and evaluation were considered and practiced.

Such events contribute to the development of professional competencies among cadets in conducting procedural actions, deepening their understanding of international and European criminal procedure standards, enhancing practical communication skills with witnesses and victims, as well as improving the quality of pre-trial investigations in the face of contemporary challenges.
