Practical classes conducted by employees of the Criminal Analysis Directorates of the Main Directorates of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions for 2nd-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine of DSUIA continue.
Cadets became acquainted with geospatial OSINT, its key characteristics, main tools and basic methods of geospatial analysis based on open source data.
Within the framework of in-depth study of the topic, cadets learned about the principles of chronolocation, methods of determining precise geolocation coordinates, learned to use the tool for calculating the position of the sun SunCalc, analyze the direction of the shadow, and also completed practical tasks.
Conducting such classes helps cadets form the necessary skills for effective work in the field of criminal analysis.
