Pre-Medical Assistance in Emergency Conditions: Optional Class for DSUIA Cadets

NEWS

The event was organized by the Department of Criminalistics and Pre-Medical Training of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs for students of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine.

Together with Senior Lecturer of the Department Vitalii Radchenko, the cadets analyzed the characteristic symptoms of emergency conditions, identified the causes of their occurrence, the main risk factors, and focused in detail on the algorithms for providing first pre-medical aid.

The acquired theoretical knowledge was reinforced through situational tasks. The cadets practiced applying tourniquets to the upper and lower limbs in cases of bleeding, as well as performing indirect cardiac massage and cardiopulmonary resuscitation using an AMBU mask.

The organizers emphasize that every minute of inaction in emergency conditions significantly reduces the chances of saving the victim and may lead to irreversible consequences for the body. Therefore, the ability to react quickly in critical situations and provide correct and effective assistance to colleagues or citizens before the arrival of medical professionals remains one of the key skills in the professional activity of a future law enforcement officer.
