The events for pupils of the municipal educational institution “Special School No. 12” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council were aimed at encouraging schoolchildren to lead a healthy lifestyle and at forming basic first aid skills.

Cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine prepared two thematic lectures for the students. The first was titled “Harmful Effects of Smoking and Alcohol Consumption. Stop Drug Addiction” and was devoted to the problem of harmful habits.
During the session, the schoolchildren were informed about the negative impact of tobacco, alcohol, and narcotic substances on the human body, and the social and legal consequences of their use were explained. They were also reminded of the importance of a responsible attitude toward their own health and safe behavior.
The second part of the meeting addressed the basics of first aid, where the pupils were introduced to the basic algorithm of actions in case of injuries and bleeding. After the theoretical part, the schoolchildren together with the cadets practiced practical skills of applying a tourniquet to stop bleeding and learned the main rules for its use.

Conducting such events contributes to forming a conscious attitude among young people toward their health, developing safe behavior skills and the ability to provide assistance in emergency situations, as well as strengthening cooperation between the university and partner educational institutions.
